Declan Sinnott & Evelyn Kallansee at Bandon Folk Club – April 25
Declan Sinnott and Evelyn Kallansee, known as Evelyn & Dec, bring their unique musical collaboration to Bandon Folk Club this April. Since they began working together in 2020, the pair have written and recorded *Make for Joy*, released in February last year and named RTE 1’s ‘Album of the Week.’
Declan is a familiar name in Irish music, having worked with Christy Moore, Mary Black, Horslips, and Moving Hearts. He’s a talented producer, songwriter, singer, and guitarist. Evelyn’s journey has taken her from Curaçao to the Netherlands and now Co. Kerry, with a career spanning musicals like Les Misérables to acid jazz and beyond.
Together, they’ve created a fresh sound and approach. Their performance will feature songs from Make for Joy, along with some of Declan’s classics and new takes on old favorites—including their latest single No Frontiers. Two voices, one guitar, and plenty of heart—this promises to be a special night of music.
The opening act on the night will be Louis Butler, a talented folk guitarist, singer, and songwriter based in Cork City. Known for his intricate guitar work and soulful vocals, Louis’ style blends traditional folk, indie, and bluegrass influences. His music has drawn comparisons to legends like Nick Drake, John Martyn, Tony Rice, and Richard Thompson. With a repertoire that includes original compositions alongside interesting takes on familiar covers, Louis delivers performances that are both captivating and authentic. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience his artistry live.
